Training on ” Gender equality and non-discrimination “
On 21st of June at the Slavic University- St. Nikole, was held thematic training on “ Gender equality and non-discrimination”, the second of eight planned thematic trainings organized by the Project Promoting social dialogue.
The debates were related to non-discrimination and equality in employment and Macedonian context in terms of non-discrimination of women in the labor market and the attention was forfeit to the Convention on Discrimination (Employment and Work) and the Convention on equal pay for work of equal value as instruments of the International labor organization.
The moderator of the event was Silke Shtsjnhilber, a specialist in labor and gender equality and Nikica Mojsoska Blazeski, a national expert who presented their experiences and research on the extent of representation of discrimination and inequality in the assessment of men and women in the country.
The participants were given questions and practical exercises with examples that further opened the discussion on areas where are the most prevalent discrimination and ways to reduce it as the first step until its eradication.
The purpose of this training is to strengthen the capacity of national and local economic and social councils.
