On 20th and 21st March, two experts from the International Labor Organization (ILO) for Occupational Safety and Health from the headquarters in Geneva had visit Macedonia. The purpose of their mission is to familiarize with the situation in the field of occupational health and safety, within the technical support of the ILO for assessing the degree of implementation of the ratified Convention on the Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health (No. 187) in the Macedonian legislation , as well as an overview of the challenges in the implementation of the Law on Safety and Health at Work.
On March 21, 2018, a meeting was held with representatives of the KSS on topics related to safety and health at work. The meeting was divided into three parts:
1.Decisions related to the activities of the representatives of the employees for safety and health at work where it was explained about the current activities of the representatives of the workers for safety and health at work.
2. Talk about the legal regulations on labor relations and respect for the Law on Safety and Safety at Work by the employees and the management. Regarding this, it was emphasized that the existing legislation is being implemented to a sufficient extent and all irregularities on the ground are reported to the competent institutions.
3. In the third part was included the representative of the KSS who spoke about the tripartite dialogue, the functioning of the Economic and Social Council and the Council for Safety and Health at Work.
